Our Core Values

Flexibility

We strive to ensure that anyone can register for classes regardless of their schedule limitations, family obligations, financial situation, or previous experience levels. There are no barriers for signing up for our main program. Students can sign up for as little as 3 hours a week up to full time immersion. Rather than setting specific project deadlines, we allow students to work on assignments at their own pace. This allows our students to change their school schedule based on their needs: students can work, attend to caregiving responsibilities, and meet life demands. As a result, we have a diverse student body in terms of class, age, gender, and race/ethnicity.

Individual Empowerment

Our mission and methods of instruction is to not make our students' personal work look the same, but to ensure that students come out of the program feeling empowered to make any art they choose, and to not be held back by technical inability. We use realism/representational projects in order to build a very specific set of skills. We encourage students to use the tool kit they develop and develop their own personal visual language.

Diversity

Our student base include a wide range of ages, backgrounds, languages, and previous experiences. We believe that encouraging different perspectives helps to better the art community as a whole and make the art community more inclusive and innovative.

Community

Our staff and student base have cultivated a community that is supportive and welcoming.
